FOOD & DRINKS

Adelaide River is steep in WW2 history and the naming of the '303 BAR' reflects this history. The 303 rifle being the weapon of choice by the Australian Army in WW2.

Pub and Bistro

The "303 BAR & Bistro" is located in the main building directly behind the PUMA service station amongst the shady trees, outside dining area and tree shaded beer garden, a great place to sit and relax while the children play on the lawn surroundings. The "303 BAR" is no fancy cocktail bar; it is an old style country pub with a lot of history, charisma and charm. There is cold beer on tap, bottled spirits, beer and mixed drinks in stubbies or cans plus soft drink. The Bistro serves old country style favourites and modern style meals. Famous for its local wild caught barramundi, another dish worth trying would be the buffalo.

Within the building you will find pictures and memorabilia of the pub’s and town’s history. “Charlie” the buffalo made famous as the buffalo Mick Dundee (Paul Hogan) hypnotizes to the ground in the movie Crocodile Dundee can be found standing proudly at one end of the bar. “Charlie” was an Adelaide River resident until sadly passing away in the year 2000 of old age; he is fondly remembered by NT locals, travellers and movie buffs alike.

OUR REVIEWS

What visitors are saying:

The 303 Bar is a Musty !

Had heard many things about the Inn and it was a pretty pleasant stop for an early B'fast from Diggers Bistro. Pretty basic fare but the bacon & egg roll hit the spot even though it gouged a hole in the wallet ! The bistro had a fairly large selection of meals available and all made fresh. Self serve coffee & tea was quaint! The bar was open but a bit early for me I'm afraid but still had a look around and it does have a lot of character and maybe next time I'll get to have a few cold ones ? The beer garden area was a nice spot with heaps of tables/cover to enjoy a spot out of the sun. Well worth a drop in !!!
